TikTok parental controls

TikTok is developing a parental controls feature these days that allows parents to impose restrictions on their children's accounts.
A new feature called "Family Pairing" allows parents to connect to their children's TikTok accounts, enable Restricted content mode and set screen time limits.

  • The main reason for the introduction of this facility is that in February 2019, TikTok had to pay $ 5.7 million to the Federal Trade Commission for violating child privacy laws by allowing users under the age of 13 to register without parental consent.

To use this feature, parents will need to scan the QR Code included in the Digital Wellbeing of the child's TikTok app, and the ability to enter a passcode to prevent the child from changing certain settings.
This allows the TikTok app to limit usage time, screen time, block direct messages, and block unwanted content viewing.
    Screen Time Management
This will determine the amount of time that can be spent on the TikTok app within a day, and TikTok will show the child short videos that have been created according to the time remaining.

  • Restricted Mode
  • This mode can block the display of inappropriate content and even if the Family Paring feature is not enabled, parents will be able to set this up through the Digital Wellbeing feature.
  • Restricted content mode
  • Direct Messages
  • Restrict or completely limit the number of people who can send messages to the relevant account through this
  • Gain the ability to perform blocking.
In addition to the introduction of this new feature, TikTok has reportedly decided not to offer direct messaging to all users under the age of 16 from April 30th.
